School Year 2012-13

This is the beginning of our fourth year of homeschooling and we now officially have 3 children in our school.  Our oldest is a 6th grader, our middle is in 4th and the youngest just started kindergarten.  When we decided to homeschool  I sat down and wrote up our goals and then a tentative schedule.  Then someone directed me to The Well Trained Mind and for the most part I have not looked back. This book has become a cornerstone for our homeschool, and as we continue on this journey I have found many of the suggestions by the authors to be extremely helpful.  Of course a few of the books and curriculum were not the right fit for us, but for the most part I have been extremely pleased with the classical style of education.  Below I have listed the books we are using this year for each child.  Throughout the school year I will get into more detail on why we chose that particular book and subject and if we are happy with the curriculum.  So here it is:
