Happy Easter

It was a cold morning, but sunny which I always like for Easter. Something about a dreary Easter morning doesn't feel quite the same.  Yes, I know that I am saved through the death and resurrection of Christ, but sitting in our church at the sunrise service and having the sun's rays stream through the windows to the front of our sanctuary and light up the cross always uplifts my spirit.  The music, the mood, the sun and of course the Easter meal made this a very blessed day.

We spent the afternoon at my sister's home with her family and had ham, potatoes, brussels sprouts, stuffing, creamed peas, my bread and her famous cheesecake.  I also made these little cupcakes inspired by a post on Pinterest.  I don't think these would win a ribbon at the fair, but everyone thought they were cute.  Now I am sitting at home, slightly bloated, wondering why I ate all that food and took seconds on the cheesecake and bread? (The diet begins again tomorrow!)

I pray your Easter was as joyful as mine.  Well, maybe not just like mine.  I am sure you could do without the cold, winter weather (it may be spring where you are, but here in Fargo the snow is piled quite high) and I wouldn't wish my distended and too full stomach on anyone.  But Happy Easter just the same!
