Yummy Casserole Recipe Using Seasoned Sausage

I love creating my own recipes, but I am not good at naming them.  Take this one for example, it acquired the name because when I asked the question "How does it taste?" the reply from everyone was "It's Yummy!"  Hence the name:  Yummy Casserole.  Its name may not be unique or win me a prize for originality, but what really matters is how it tastes.  Not only does this dish have a wonderful flavor, but it is extremely easy to make.

This recipe makes 2 pans of casserole.  I use a 9x13 and a 9x9.  I bake the larger one and freeze the smaller one for future use.

Yummy Casserole

  • 1 Box Pasta (16 oz) - I like to use large shell pasta, but any shaped pasta will work.  Boil according to the directions on the box and drain.  Pour most of the pasta into the larger casserole dish and the rest in the smaller.  Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
  • 1/2 C Parmesan Cheese - Sprinkle over the pasta and mix,
  • 12-16 oz. Seasoned Sausage - browned and drained.  Sprinkle this on top of the pasta.
  • 1 Can Italian Seasoned Tomatoes or 1 Can Diced Tomatoes with 1 t. Italian Seasoning.  Pour onto the pasta.
  • 1 Jar Spaghetti Sauce - pour onto the pasta and now mix it all together.
  • Pepperoni - cover the pasta mixture with a layer of pepperoni.
  • Cheese of choice (I usually use Colby Jack) - Sprinkle with a nice thick layer of cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 350 until nice and bubbly.  This will take about 30-45 minutes.

Enjoy.

Sorry I forgot to take a picture.  The next time I make this meal I will add a picture.
