$50 Per Week Grocery Challenge - Week #20 & #21

How Much Did I Spend For Weeks #20 & #21?

We went on a family vacation to a lake resort in central Minnesota.  The kids had so much fun spending time with Grandma and Grandpa and their cousins.  It was so relaxing, but now back to reality.  School starts Monday for us along with v-ball, music lessons and just the everyday things which need to get done.

For week #20 I spent quite a bit as I not only needed to buy supplies for the week vacation, but I also needed replenish some of my staples.  I went to 6 stores - yes I said SIX! and spent a total of $105.58!!  And yes, I think that amount deserves a couple of exclamation points.  One reason for the large amount was the families decided to each make 2 large meals.  I figured I should not only make some really good meals, but to not skimp on the ingredients.  I made tacos with all the fixins including guacamole and homemade refried beans and the 2nd meal I made kabobs.  All the meals were so good and I know I came home quite a bit heavier than when I left.  Diet starts Monday!

For week #21 I spent $36.26 and my total for the 21 weeks is $894.13.  That averages to $42.58 per week.  I have $155.87 left over.  And we are still eating well and not starving.  Not bad.
